Outlook has stopped working dialogue box

M

Mr. Beezley

Curious if anyone else has the notorious dialogue box popping up every so
often in Outlook.
This has happened with Outlook pro, 2007 and enterprise.
Running Vista with all latest greatest updates.

Open outlook, and leave open, doing other things ...
every so often if you try to send mail the:
Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working
Close the program or
Try to find a solution and restart the program.

Starting to get very annoying.
The "details" say it's an
APPCRASH in ntdll.dll
with register address...

Have searched for a solution but can't find one.

Any ideas?

Have you tried to repair your Office / Outlook installation?

Sorry, Yes, I should have included that...
I have repaired, uninstalled/reinstalled, reinstalled to a different
directory,
checked for an online solution (there wasn't one), rebooted, turned off
pretty much
everything and ran it all alone.

Still does it...there doesn't seem to be any "system" to it failing, it does
it when it wants to, I could be doing something as simple as looking through
my folders I've created for an email, to writing an email, reading an email,
looking at tools.

I will try to cut and paste the details next time it happens, it does say
APPCRASH though, along with ntdll.dll so maybe it's a hook that's not
staying established along with something else. Could also be a vista thing.

My XP version for my XP operating system on another computer has never
failed me.

I'm seeing some online postings that reference antivirus add-ins for
Outlook. Could you try disabling any add-ins that Outlook is running for
awhile and see if that resolves the issue? If so, you may want to check with
the add-in manufacturers to find the latest (or compatible) version.

Totally disabled, both Webroot anti virus, and AVG anti virus..
and the Windows security area with no change.
Seems to happen with more frequency now,

Really frustrating, and I think it's the whole office suite as opposed to
just the outlook, as once in awhile..and only once in awhile, Word will quit
working the same way. Always checks for a solution online, and nothing.

***Note though, I did receive a pop up notification that Outlook repeatedly
keeps stopping, would I like to run diagnostics on it, it when through it's
several test's finding that everything was alright.

Windows Mail (Outlook Express's Sister) does this too.

Please don't make me resort to Opal Office

I went in circles for DAYS trying to fix my Outlook APPCRASH.
uninstalled Outlook 2007 and re-installed 2003. Nothing worked - THEN

Buried Deep Deep in microsoft's support site is the fix for this. A

Here are their instructions. It has to do with the registry. I'
putting quotes around the copy and paste into this thread - - -

"To fix this issue, follow these steps:

then click *OK*
- In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registr

- In the right pane, right-click the *Security Zone* registry entry
and then click *Delete*
- Repeat step 3 for the following registry entries

- PONT_STRIN
