OUTLOOK.MSI - OFFICE XP probs...

Andy

Hi All.

Have a bosses home PC here with Office XP. Outlook has
started freezing on exiting, so was going to install
Office XP SP3, but for some odd reason every time I try to
install the service pack it says it needs the Outlook 2002
CD and looks for OUTLOOK.MSI. I've put the XP CD in, but
it wont have any of it and insists on the Outlook 2002 CD
and this OUTLOOK.MSI file.

Its driving me CRAZY!!!

Any help would be gratefully receieved.

did he install outlook from a cd that came with a pda? That would account
for it asking for a different version.

Will it let you browse to locate the file you have?

Also - common causes of freezing are the outcmd.dat and *.srs files -- use
Windows Search (advanced options, search all hidden and system files) to
find them, then rename.
