Outlook question

A client of mine has been running Outlook but has not
done any of the updates. She is on a dial up so we
downloaded the patch updates from our office and loaded
on her system. She states that since the update, there is
a three second delay in opening emails and general delay
in outlook with the hour glass going off. She states
this happens whether she is dialed in or not.

Any ideas if the patch would cause a delay like this.
I've not seen this before.
