Outlook spawns Word, then freezes

Whenever i try reply or create an e-mail in Outlook, Outlook tries to load,
then freezes. When i change my settings to not use Word for e-mails, I can
write e-mails. The problem seems to be with Word. Any ideas how i can remedy
this as i would prefer to use Word? Thanks
