Outlook won't store my Yahoo password, so mail checking fails?

I have just started using Outlook 2000, and followed the steps to add my
Yahoo mail account.

When I click send/receive I am prompted to enter my password (despite saving
the password in the account settings) and sending fails after a timeout.

I am able to receive mail however?

Please help

Is this a paid Yahoo! account? Yahoo.com cannot be used with Outlook unless
it's a paid Yahoo! account.

Hi Brian

Thanks for taking the time to help. It is a Yahoo.co.uk account that
satisfies the mail delivery criteria (I have subscribed to Yahoo delivery) I
then followed the Yahoo help page at
help.yahoo.com/help/uk/mail/pop/pop-05.html

Any ideas please? It seems weird that despite asking Outlook to save my
password, the password prompt comes up each time I click send/receive

Your password is not storing becase the Protected Storage service is
disabled and/or stopped. To start, cick on START and RUN. Type:
services.msc and press enter. Find and start the Protected Storage
service. Now, open Outlook again, enter your password one last time
and you'll be all set.
