Outlook XP won't open excel attachment

Outlook XP won't open excel attachment if excel is
already open. This is a sporadic problem on office XP
SP2. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Try this:

In Excel, select Tools | Options | General
Is the option to ignore other applications checked? If so, uncheck it... any
better?
