Page Header Help

Hi All,

Hopefully someone can help me with this query.

I was working in a word document and then all of a sudden the headers o
each page changed. Previously, each page had a standard header. I.e 1,4
cm from the top of the page. However, now, on certain pages, the "blu
dotted line" which marks the header position is as big as half th
page.

I have tried adjusting the blue line in the margins by dragging it up
but it does not change anything. I have also tried adjusting th
paragraph details, but again it does not change it back.

I spoke briefly with my IT department and they thought that i wouldn'
be able to edit the document as I was not the original creator. (I hav
edited an old document).

Does anyone know how i can get round this issue to get all my header
back to normal? I attach a screenshot to show the problem.

Thanks in advance

First, make sure your non-printing characters are showing (Ctrl-
Shift-8).

Are there many paragraph marks in the header?

Enter the header (double-click in it) and delete them.

Save your document and quit Word.

Maybe it won't inexplicably grow paragraphs in the headers again. But
if it does, that's how to fix it.

Why? Who knows?

On the Layout tab of Page Setup, make sure the vertical alignment is set to
Top and not Center.
