Page Numberinf 1 of 9 does not work

Hello,
I am trying to print a woord (2000) document with page numbers X of Y in
the footer and each footer set as "same as previous". The problem is, in a 9
page document, it prints 1 of 1 for the first page 2 of 2 for the second, and
so on in the same way. This problem only appears when I print, it looks like
it should on the screen.
Any input greatly appreciated.
