Page Numbering Problem

For some reason the page numbers at the bottom of my screen start numbering
with page number 4. When I add pages before this page the new pages start at
4 and everything shifts to the right. This is very frustrating. How do I get
it to renumber back to page 1?

This is going to be a book. Once I get everything figured out, I will
probably want the page numbering (master page) to start the page numbers (as
printed in the book not actual page numbers) at a later page. How is this
done?

In pub 2007...try the following...

Open the document

Go to...Insert / Section

Number format...1, 2, 3

Start at : 1 / OK
