Page numbers for some sections but not all sections of a document

I have a document with four sections. I only want page numbers for section
three and four. I have put page numbers in Section 3 and 4 with no problems,
but I keep getting page numbers in section 1 and 2. When I try to remove
them, the page numbers in section 3 disappear. Any suggestions on how just
to remove page numbers for section 1 and 2?

It sounds like you still have your sections linked. If you see "Same
as Previous" in the upper right corner of the header/footer then they
are still linked. So any changes made to all linked sections. To
unlink a section use the "Same as Previous" command on the
Header/Footer toolbar.

If I follow your layout, you should just need to unlink section 3
only. Note both the Header and Footer and be linked/unlinked
individually so if your page numbers are in the footer make sure you
are in the footer prior to using the "Same as Previous" command.

u just choose header and footer , in this u have a icon Same As previous icon
; click on it and it dims , it means u off that system; b/c of this u insert
page numbers on section3 and 4 independently
