PARENT PATH!

Ah yes, you see, all you have to do is ask the right question and
you'll get the right answer. I could not remember the word....PARENT
PATH...I told the webhost and they're about to fix it, we'll see if it
works.

Thanks!

If they don't you may need to either explain the issue behind parent paths
or move to a host that understands it. MS is on a bit of a security trip at
the moment so they disable anything that even might possibly give rise to a
security issue - parent paths is one of those issues and a host not
knowledgable about FP will keep the feature disabled out of ignorance. Your
host probably has a disk that looks like
c:\
AccountName1
/Private
/Logs
/Website
AccountName2
/Private
/Logs
/Website

So there's no possible way parent paths could be a security issue for them -
if they don't understand this it may be a strong sign that they're not a
host you want to work with long term.

PS
Only if is c:\ is Not a system drive w/ the OS on it
(most hosts are using say E: or higher w/ nothing on it but the web accounts)

I thought that was obvious but maybe I should have put f:\ :) . I bet
there's not a host in the world that puts their hosting accounts on a system
drive.

Except those that are foolish enough to host their own server on say Win XP Pro
