Password problem with Outlook 2002

When I click send/receive to check my mail, I always get
the prompt to enter my password, even though I always
click the box that says "save this password" (or whatever
it says). It just doesn't save the password. I looked
through the knowledge base for an answer....and they
provide a registry fix for windows 98, windows NT, and
windows 2000, but NOT for Windows XP, which is what I
have. Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
