Pasting from Excel

When I paste in a project schedule from Excel the durations revert to 1day.
They paste okay if I just paste the duration column.

I need to paste the entiire project from Excel, where tasks, manpower and
druations are being manipulated.

What gives, how can I paste entire project from Excel?

Dave,
Have you considered using an import map? If you go to File/Open and then
select "Microsoft Excel Workbook" as the File of Type, you will get the
import wizard. Follow the steps to import your data. No copy and paste
required.

I tried the Wizard, I won't be using that. Why wouldn't I be able to
Copy/Paste? C'n'P is simple, easier, and more flexible. Do you have a
solution to loosing the durations when pasting?

Dave,
No I don't have an answer about "losing" the durations when pasting. I'd
have to play with it myself to see if there is a solution. Generally
though, the problem with cut and paste is that it is, a) tedious, b)
inefficient, and c) prone to human error. If for some reason an import
map doesn't work for you, a better alternative would be to use VBA.
