Per Day Costs for Work Resources

I need to set cost per day for resources where the full cost is charged for
each day of the task, whether the resource works 1 hour or 24 hours during
that day. I have set up a cost per diem custom cost field for a resource,
but can't figure out how to multiply the duration (in whole days) in the
tasks table by the custom field per diem cost in the resources table. I also
need to know how to make a custom cost field value be included in the total
cost for a task.

Would you be able to get by with changing the Std. Rate in the Resource Sheet
to something like $900/day?

If that won't work for you, consider this. You have hit the nail directly
on the head by discovering you have two variables in different tables. Some
how you need to make the other table "aware" of your variable in the other
table.

To do this, you may need to write a macro that will transport the data from
one table to the other for you. Fortunately, one of the MVPs has done a lot
of the thinking for us. As a start, read FAQ#37. Click the link below,
click FAQ and then go to #37. You will be able to use that as a guideline to
get started.
