Permissions for a check box?

We are building a Request for Access Form. All the fields work fine, but we
would like to have a tick/check box that only one person (the CFO of the
company) will be able to manipulate. The rest of the employees should only
be able to see whether the CFO has ticked the box yet or not, being unable to
tick it themselves. I have made a Conditional Formatting of if the user's
current role is not equal to CFO (specified through Active Directory),
disable this control. I then upload it to the SharePoint Form Library and
have someone who is not the CFO look at the form, and they are able to tick
and untick the check box. This is not what we want and I am at a loss as to
how to correct it.
