Photo gallery - Do I need to down size my photo

using frontpage 2003. I am trying to set up a gallery of pictures. Do I
need to down size my images first and save them to the images file folder?
Once the thumbnails are made do I need to create a link to the larger
version of the image?

are you making your own or are you using FrontPage's built in gallery
component?

what you should do is get all your files (pictures) together in a folder
outside FrontPage,
go through them with your editor (graphics editor) and make whatever edits
you need to, then save them at a reasonable size (both physical size (px)
and file size(k))
once your images are ready close that folder, open FrontPage and hit file/
import/ folder and import that folder into the web structure.
then insert your gallery, add the pictures from your newly imported folder.
FrontPage will take care of the thumbnails and links through the gallery
interface.

thanks so much. I believe I understand now. I also think I will be
purchasing Front Page 2003 Step by Step book this weekend to help me along!
