Pictures in Outline and Draft mode in Word 2007 are not shown?

Hi

It seems that when you are in Outline or Draft mode document view, Word
does not show the pictures you inserted in the document?

What you see is just a big blank space.

Is there a way to have word show at least a placeholder, a grayed out
area where the picture is, just anything that reminds you that in that
place there is not just *nothing* but there is *a picture*, so you are
not induced to remove all that, apparently "white space", that is
actually a picture?

This occurs because of the way Word 2007 file format handles graphics. Save
the document as Word 97-2003 format and in-line graphics will be displayed
in Draft and Outline modes.
or
Work in Print Layout mode.
