Pie charts not refreshing

I've come across a repeatable problem: 3D pie charts created in Excel 2008 do not refresh either the data or the labels when the source data is changed. I've noticed this problem in .xls and .xlsx files. The refresh only happens after a save.

I can provide a test case file for reference.

Unless I'm missing something obvious. Thanks for any guidance.

Is calculation set to automatic? Preferences-Calculation

Well, something is fishy with your configuration. It works fine for me in
both Excel 2004 and 2008. Make a change and press F9. What happens?

I have also seen this behavior in 2008. Specifically, I was referencing named data ranges for my charts and when updating the underlying data, the charts did not update. Calculation settings were correct and the only thing that would refresh the data was saving the file.

Again, did you try F9?

After turning of Expose, I tried F9, but nothing changed. Is there another way you suggest that I demonstrate the problem? I know it's not just me because another coworker also is not seeing the pie charts refresh after opening the saved .xls file.

I suggest you turn off Expose and try that way.

F9 is recalc in the Windows version. Isn't it Command-= in the Mac version?

F9 also works in the Mac version.
