pivot chart field button

I have a pivot chart that one of the fields comes from user entered selection.
... on the chart itself, the field button does not show the specific choice
pertaining to that chart. Although that button does have a drop down, all i
can select are "all" and "user entered choice", when i deslect one, they both
disappear. I would like to be able to have that choice displayed on the
chart if at all possible. Any suggestions?
