Marsh and I have done a bit more in the way of searching, and it would appear
that we are going to have a problem getting a vob file to play in PowerPoint
without a lot of intervention.
IS this correct?

A vob file is usually associated with a DVD. Is this in fact a DVD you are
using or is it on your hard drive? In either case a vob file is an mpeg-2
format (within a "wrapper") and will require that you have a DVD decoder
installed on the machine.

Assuming you have the decoder, and that it is on your hard drive, try
changing it from *.vob to *.mpg and see if it works.

I am most definately not an expert in this area, but I believe what you want
to do may be accomplished using Quick Time.
