Please Help, Data File Probs

Hi, I have Outlook 2003.
I also I have a Hotmail Account I wish to use with it.
I set up my hotmail account with it, and it sends and
recieves emails fine. The only problem is that when I
start up Outlook, it goes into the 'Personal Folders'
inbox, which isn't what I want, due to the fact that,
that inbox is never going to recieve email. I notice that
if I change the 'data files' settings, Outlook will open
to that inbox. The problem is I cannot change it so that
it sends incoming emails (even though it acually does) to
the 'Hotmail' data file, so that will cause it so when i
open Outlook, it will go straight to the Hotmail Inbox,
not the 'Personal Folders' Inbox.
So at the side of Outlook, I have 'Personal Folder',
which is set up to recive all emails, which it doesnt.
And I have 'Hotmail' which i have to click on, which does
recieve the emails.

Also, I have it set to check to send/recieve every
minute, and alert if an email arrives. It sends/recieves
as said, but doesnt acually get the email, even when i no
one is coming.....it still doesnt say email arrived..i
have to manually click send.recieve and it will get it.
Also i dont get alerted, even though its said to.
