PNG files

i read the discussion about the PNG files...
I had the same prob. when i got Publisher 2002, but it was fixed
by downloading the SP1 i think it was...

but now my dad bought the Publisher 2003 - and i/we still have that
stupid problem, and here its quite difficult to get rid of the very
large PNG files -

I dont know what to do -

its VERY irritating that when you save your website - the size of it is
nearly the same as the original document, because of the PNG's

does the office 2003 SP1 - of 1.april 2004 solve the problem or not ???
nobody seems t know for real...

Hi Mary

thank for the link -
I must say, as some of the people here - i does NOT help the problem....

we have now installed the office publisher 2003 SP1
we have also used the new compressor button, to compress the photos
etc etc

1: If we choose NOT to allow the PNG
it STILL makes PNG files - mixed with Jpeg and Giff
and the file to load up as the website is at - 18MB

2: if we then choose TO ALLOW the PNG files - it ONLY makes PNG files
and the file is now a good 9MB -
And when you upload it, it dosnt take the photos, it only makes empty
photoframes on the net.

(In the older Publisher it was only 2MB - and NO PNG files)

so I have to ask again - HOW do we get rid of the PNG when
saving to web..???

I mean - in Denmark where we live, the Publisher 2003 costed
app 400 dollars - and now we have only problems......

best - Lars.
