pointer suddenly jumps to different word while typing

while typing, pointer jumps to different word or sentence thus jumbling up
paragraph. really annoying. any idea why?

If this is a laptop, are you perhaps inadvertently brushing the touchpad
with your sleeve or thumb? This is the most common cause of such behavior.
If you are not using the touchpad, you can probably disable it. Or you can
at least reduce its sensitivity.
