pop3 error

I have a beeb.net account setup to enable me to work from
home.
However when im in the office i need to get my emails
through a LAN and not my modem on my laptop.
I keep getting the error message on the incoming and
outgoing server, these are currently set to the beeb
servers?
I know this wont connect direct through the LAN but i
know it is possible.
Can anyone help???
