Please Help
I bought printed post cards
I need to Place a message on the left side and then mail
merge my mailing list on the right side to 600 people.
Can anyone tell me in detail how to accomplish this?
I tried the label route and I am not happy. I would
really like my mailing to look professional.
Thanks to Anyone who will take the time to help me.

If the printed cards are set set several to a sheet then the label route is
the way forward. If they are individual pages then use a form letter merge
format.

Using the label format you can split the cells to create two areas, but it's
a bit fiddly to achieve - see http://www.gmayor.com/Numbered_labels.htm
which illustrates how to deal with the problems created with split cells and
a label merge. This article is about numbering, but the principles are the
same.

When using a form letter it is unlikely that you will be able to get a
custom page size to work. If that is the case use a standard page size and
drop the text area to that of the card using large margins. Word and the
printer will not know the difference. Set the remaining area into a two cell
table for your left and right parts.

Note also that if the message is to be the same for each card, that will be
part of your static text, and merge fields will be needed only for the
address. If push comes to shove, you could print message and addresses in
two separate passes. If the message is to vary for each card, then you'll
need a merge field for that as well.
