Powerpoint 2000 SP3 - can't view show?

For some reason I can't seem to view show by either selecting via the menu
or by hitting F5 like I used to.

This happens both with existing files saved on my PC which previously worked
OK and new files from work that view OK there but not on my PC.

Any ideas why this should happen but more importantly how do I solve this
problem?
