PowerPoint 2003 still uses NetMeeting?

Has there been a step backwards from the beta version for
on-line collaboration? What was wrong with the old and
excellent PowerPoint Conferencing? The new version uses
NetMeeting and not Windows Messenger?? What is the
recommended method for online collaboration within a
corporate network?
