Powerpoint 2004 is set to Read-Only - how do I change it so I can

When I create a new PPT file, it saves it normally. When I open it again to
edit, I can do so. When I go to save the updated file it tells me it is
READ-ONLY and asks if I want to save it with a different name. This works but
then I must do it again every time I update the file. Nothing in HELP has
told me how to change the setting.

PowerPoint 2004 is for the Mac. Did you make a typo, or are you a Mac user?
The Mac newsgroup can be found at
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.mac.office.powerpoint and you'll
probably have a better chance there.

As Sonia mentioned, PPT 2004 is for a Mac. But I'll ask this anyway, as it
may have bearing regardless of operating system: When you save your PPT file,
are you by chance saving to a CD?
