PowerPoint 2011 and default font

Hi folks, using Office 2011 and of course PPT 2011, how can I change the
default font for every new text box from Calibri to Arial?
I tried clicking outside text boxes, and outside the slide itself and
going to Format -> font but it is greyed out.

Create a text box.
Format the box with font, colour, etc.
right click on the box
choose set as default shape...
