powerpoint and excel errors report message on windows boot

Everytime I turn on the computer I get these error messsages from Powerpoint
and Excel with a request to send the error report to Microsoft.
Even though the programs are not running at boot obviously.
Why would I get such an error at boot when these programs are not even
running?

And is there a way to turn of error reporting entirely?

You have a better chance if you post in the Excel and Powerpoint newsgroups.
This is the Outlook newsgroup.

Folks post in here for OE because they cannot see the whole name when
looking for groups. I tried checking the description of groups but nothing
ever downloads.

If you're using the web interface at http://support.microsoft.com/ and want
the English discussion group about Outlook Express, under Community
Newwsgroups in the left frame, expand English, then Redesigned List, then
Windows, then Outlook Express, and select General Discussions
<http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...soft.public.outlookexpress.general&sloc=en-us>
or Stationery Discussion or expand Outlook Express 6.0 and Previous Versions
and select the appropriate group from there. You can also click here:
