I cannot access the animation scheme list in task pane. It is grey.

How do i make a slide remain for a longer time?

By chance do you have the new features turned off? To check, do
Tools-->Options--> Edit Tab and see if the animations option has a check
next to it. If it does, remove the check and see if you can add the schemes.

The answer to your second question has more to do with transitions than with
animations. Bring up the Transitions task pane and see what the transition
time is set to.

Thanks son much for the first answer. You were correct...it was disabled.

However as to the transition, i bring in copy in chunks on a slide, and when
the last piece comes on the slide disappears to the next slide. The
transition is set to slow. But it is still to fast. Any suggestions. I
basically want to freeze the end of the slide which has all elements on it
for people to absorb.

By the way, Your last line is what I live by as well. Thanks.

Glad to hear the animations problem was what I thought it was. If you want
to sit on the last slide longer, increase the timing in the "Advance
Automatically After XX Seconds" value. You may need to adjust this value
slide by slide. If so, be sure you don't click the "Apply to all slides"
button when you update the time. If you need more details, let us know.

Glad you like the sig line.
