Powerpoint crashes intermittently on new Macbook Pro

Hi,

I recently migrated all my data onto a new Macbook Pro from my old
Powerbook G4 using the Migration Assistant. I left all the MS Office
setteings the same. However, now Powerpoint simply crashes
intermittently without warning. I have the latest version of Office
with all the updates and the latest Mac OS, also with all the updates.

Is there something I need to change in Office after switching over to
Intel-based Macs? I would appreciate any collected wisdom on this.

Thanks!

Hi,

The Macbook may have been shipped with the Office Test Drive version
pre-installed. Did you uninstall the Test Drive?

Hi Jim,

Yes. I ran the Office Uninstall program and removed all versions that I
do not use including Test Drive. A Spotlight search with "Test Drive"
turns up no files so I feel fairly certain that Test Drive has been
uninstalled/removed.
Powerpoint still crashes but less often - when it does it is usually
when I am modifying an existing Excel graph in a slide - if that is
informative. I do this routinely but the is the first time it has led
to such crash outcomes. Any ideas?

Many thanks for the input.

Hi,

If you haven't already done so, run Disk Utility to repair permissions and
to verify the drive.

As soon as DiskWarrior is available for Intel Macs I'd let it have a go at
your drive.
