Powerpoint hangs when opening my presentation

Hi,
My configuration is Win XP Home SP1 / Powerpoint 2002 SP3. This is my
problem: I created a large presentation with about 100 slides and some
embedded film objects. After I inserted the last film object today I
could'nt open the presentation anymore. If I try to open the
presentation Powerpoint starts, shows the first slide and then hangs.
No error message. With Powerpoint viewer 2003 the presentation works
fine. I tried to open the file with Powerpoint in safemode. I also
checked the KB and tried the workarounds described in article 313937.
Nothing helps...

Any help appreciated!

Best regards,
Gunnar

Are the videos in the same folder as the presentation? If not, move them to
that folder and see if the presentation will open.

(Just as an aside, videos inserted via Insert/Movies and Sounds/Movies from
File are always linked. So chances are you haven't really embedded the
videos into the presentation.)

Here's info on recovering corrupt files.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011168781033.aspx I'm not
positive your file is corrupt, but you may be able to use the steps there to
get it opened again.

How large is the file, anyway? How large are the videos?
