Powerpoint on Web Loops in Safari

A PowerPoint file is created on PowerPoint 2000 (Windows), then
transferred to my Mac, where it is opened in PowerPoint X. Then it is
saved as Web Page, with options to support for Netscape and other
browsers, and uploaded to a web host. Now it is viewed in Safari 1.1
or later. The first slide displays and then re-displays. Sometimes
it goes into a loop re-displaying several times, or even for several
minutes. This did not happen with Safari 1.0. On the other hand,
Safari 1.1 and later does not have this problem with any other kind of
web page that I have encountered. The looping problem seems to be
worse on slower connections. Is there a setting that I need to
change?

I was really hoping for a more useful reply, such as a line of
JavaScript which must be removed from or added to a particular file in
order to prevent the re-loading, or maybe a setting to change either
in PowerPoint (when saving as web page) or in Safari. I have already
submitted bug reports to both Apple and Microsoft already. Saying
that the feature is designed to work with MSIE 5 -- which is a
discontinued browser, according to Microsoft's own announcement --
effectively says that the Save As Web Page is no longer supported for
Mac clients.

I was hoping for a more helpful reply. Is there some change that I
can make to one of the files that is created by the Save As Web Page
function? What is causing the reload?

To say that Safari does not support 'more complex web features'
present in PowerPoint's Save As Web Page function is inconsistent with
the facts that I posted in my original post: it worked with Safari
1.1, but not in later versions of Safari. Obviously Apple created the
problem, as Safari's update broke compatibility with this feature, but
I am hoping that I can find some way to modify the PowerPoint output
in order to fix the problem until either 1) Apple re-fixes Safari or
2) The next version of PowerPoint produces web output that works with
the newer version of Safari.

I had already submitted change requests/bug reports to both Apple and
Microsoft.
