Powerpoint text alignment.

I have powerpoing 2003. When I make a presentation I set the text alignment to center. I finish the entire presentation and save it. When I close it and then re-open it the alignment changes to the left. I change it back to center and save it and when I close it and re-open it, it goes back to the left. Anyone encounter this before or have any ideas?
