PowerPoint/Word

In Power Point when you pick a blank presentation and then pick the text and
clip art slide you can then double click on the icon to add clip art to that
specific spot inside the outlined square. Is there a way to copy that feature
to a Word template. So when the user opens the template they can click on the
icon and a icon is added to that spot. I know this is a PP group, but no one
in the word group really gave me an answer

I seriously doubt it. You can't even add that to a PPT slide except by
using one of the predefined layouts, so I can't imagine you could add it
to Word.

PowerPoint and Word are very different applications. The suggestion you
received in the Word newsgroup seems like a valid one for use in Word. Ask for
other suggestions and maybe another Word expert will offer somethings. That's
the beauty of a newsgroup. Wait awhile and others will possibly pipe in.
