Powerpoint2000 - Notes pages print but are not on the screen

I have a problem with the notes pages in a powerpoint
presentation. I have used a powerpoint presentation that
was developed some time agon and have updated this
presentation recently. Out of app. 120 slides, all have
notes in the notes section, app. 10 slides print the
notes, but don't show them on the screen, i.e. I can not
make any changes to the notes section.

Any idea how to solve this problem ??

Before doing anything else, Rainer, PLEASE make a copy of this file and put
it someplace safe. It may be going bad - you don't want to lose all that
work.

Then try "roundtripping" the file to HTML and back.
