PP2003 Hyperlinks do not open webpages

Hi, I'm using Power Point 2003 on an HP laptop. I've been experiencing a
number of problems with Internet hyperlinks not opening in IE. At first the
links would not open at all, but after changing the HTM file association back
to Internet Explorer I have encountered a new problem. The links try to load
the webpages from the Temporary Internet Files directory.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried wiping out the cache and temp files, but I am still experiencing the
same problem.

The system we're currently using is for college instructors. The links don't
work on their presentations, as well as the ones I created locally on the
system. Unfortunately I cannot post an instructor's file, but I could create
a sample presentation if that would be helpful. When working on the problem,
I created a one slide presentation of just a few links and experienced the
same trouble.

Hi Steve - I haven't had too much time to work on this problem over the past
couple of weeks, but I determined a few things regarding this problem:

- The PPTs either imported or created on this computer can open hyperlinks
(just to plain old web sites) on other systems around the college, so it is a
problem centralized to this laptop

- Re-installing MSOffice 2003 did not fix the problem

- I'm suspecting it has something to do with the Internet security settings
on this laptop, as the laptop also has issues with Windows Media Player and
downloading attachments from Hotmail accounts.

I think the best step might be to just re-image the laptop and start from
scratch, reinstalling XP, unless there is some sort of simple security fix or
repair to try.

Thanks for your help,

Dan
