We use PPT 2007 to create training modules that we convert to html then
upload to our learning management system. They are shown in a viewer window
on which there are controls for forward, back, end etc..
On Safari only a much smaller first slide loads in the top left corner and
the controls do not change the slide. The slide counter on our viewer
indicates that the slides are changing but the first slide remains on the
screen.
We had a similar problem with Foxfire but overcame it.
I have copied the presentation to an Apple notebook and viewed it locally
with the same results. In both cases local and over the internet I get an
error message at the beginning saying that "this page was optimized for mre
recent versions of Microsoft IE. If you would like to continue click here."
PPT creates wonky HTML. It's, as you've seen, really optimized for IE. You
might want to look into PPT2HTML add-in, which creates standard HTML. http://www.pptools.com/ppt2html/index.html
