Lindsay, this is usually a matter of computer and projector being out of
sync in one of two factors: either resolution or refresh rate. At your
notebook, set resolution to 1024 x 768 and if there exists the option, set
refresh rate to 60Hz. These represent typical settings that almost all
projectors can work with comfortably. See if that fixes the situation. If
so, you could try inching back up with either setting to find the threshold.
