Presentating woith desktop and a laptop

Hi may i know if i cn give a presentation using my laptop and a desktop.
also will i need connecting cables for the two computers, what are they
called if that's the case. thanks
NB: i have been creating presentations but never have i presented it so am
trying to use my two computers try out how is like
