Preventing changes to global template.

What is the Visual Basic Code that will prevent the dialogue box 'Changes
have been made that affect the <name of template>. Do you want to save those
changes?' from appearing, and also stop any changes to the template by the
user? I am using Word XP and it is for use in a global template used by my
company.

I'm going to be blunt.

That message should be appearing until you learn to write your program so it
does not make changes to the global template! You are asking us to tell you
how to turn off the smoke alarm on your users' computers so that they won't
notice your program setting fires.

Here a couple of basics:

Make the Customization Context for your changes _your template_ not
normal.dot.

Once you are done changing the user interface, set the saved state of your
template to true.

My guess is that if you do these things, your users will stop being annoyed
because your program will no longer be trying to act like a malicious virus.
(I know that isn't your intent, but it is your current result.)

Thank you for your reply. Your comment - Make the Customization Context for
your changes _your template_ not normal.dot. This was done. The template
was saved as a new template with a new name that was different to normal.dot.
My intention is to have it as a global template. BUT when opening a new
doc. from this template, in Windows Explorer it is possible to see the shadow
copy icon for the template in use, as well as the normal.dot shadow copy
icon. Is this correct, or should the normal.dot template be not used at all?

I have no addins in the new global template. Users access the created
template by selecting it from the relevant customised tab in the New Office
Document dialogue box.

Your comment - Once you are done changing the user interface, set the saved
state of your template to true. Please can you explain how this done?

Thank you.
