If you have Preview Pane or or AutoPreview turned on will
this auotmially execute an attached document and allow a
virus to execute?

Same question for "Mark as Read" does this execute any
attached document and allow a virus in?

It shouldn't.

I have a preview pane and received Mydoom virus last week
which was fine as I didn't open the attachment.
