I have created a type of form used for a testimony/affidavit. On the page is
a large RichText box which is used for the testimony/affidavit wording
itself. The box is approx 700px H x 650px W. I am using Arial/12 font,
single spaced, wordwrap, Left align, etc. I also have a scrollbar which
appears when necessary. (I use the scrollbar as an alert for the user to
back-off w/written text to ensure the text box doesn't grow since it needs to
remain in size for form format).
....The problem is this: All looks great in form view, while filling it out,
then I select Print Preview and the wording within the richtext box is "off".
For example: This is how the text would appear while filling out the form:
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog and says how now brown cow to
the milkman's daughter who is running away in the field on the otherside of
the house.
This is how the text would appear while viewing in Print Preview:
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog and says how now brown
cow to the milkman's daughter who is running away in the field on
the otherside of the house.
You can see how the text is placed nothing like it was written when filling
out the form and is now in such a way that it uses more lines/space.
I wouldn't care really, how the printed copy is spaced as long as all the
words are there...
The problem is because the box needs to remain at the specified size, the
scroll bar (that I use as an alert) appears in the print preview but does NOT
appear in the form while entering the data. If it did appear while entering
in data, I would back out some wording, and it disappears, keeping the box
size in check. But...the scroll bar is still visible in print preview
because the wording is skewed, such as the print preview believes there is
still too much data in the text box.
I am at a loss! Completely! I am using Left Define/not justified, and I
have adjusted everything I could think of, page margins, etc to no avail. I
don't need special print views because everything on the page needs to print.
Everything else on the form prints beautifully including dropdowns, and
regular text boxes as well as tabled data I used for headings, etc. The ONLY
thing that goes screwy is the testimony text within the rich text box,
nothing else is stretched or out of place.
PLEASE HELP! I can't find a solution anywhere.
Sorry for being so lengthy, but I wanted to make sure I provided all the
details for anyone who may have a solution for me.
Thank you so much! -Carole
