Print specifics for Gantt Chart

Randy

I would like to include the Predecessor column when I print my Gantt chart.
I've tried changing the "Print first __ columns on all pages" under View in
Page Setup and I don't see differences either with Print Preview or on the
printed page. Are there other settings that take precedence over this
setting? How do I get it to work? (And are the task # and Info columns
included in this column count? They don't seem to be.)

Also, does Manual Page Breaks (located in the Print box) work as a toggle to
either use or not use page breaks one has manually inserted between project
tasks? I haven't bothered to use them because I periodically collapse or
expand different summary tasks when I've viewing and printing so seems kind
of hard to manage different views this way. Any thoughts about its
usefulness?

Thanks.

I recommend creating a separate View for printing that is always set up to
print just as you want (View, More Views). Use the normal Gantt chart for
working.

Create a table called Entry - Print and add the columns you want printed in
it.

When creating the View select the Entry - Print table so selecting your
print view always selects the columns you want. just remember to swap back
to the normal Gantt chart after printing so any changes to layout you make
do not change your print layout.

Rod,
Thanks. That helps a lot with getting predecessors onto the page, and also
with formatting the page better. Being relatively new to Project, I hadn't
explored creating add'l Table views.

Is there also an easier way to print out the Gantt Chart, too? I now don't
seem to be able to get much of the chart onto a page, even using the right
arrowhead within Preview. Previously, I was able to print the Gantt Chart by
also printing pages 498-500 in addition to pages 4-6 onto std 8.5x11 paper.
Make sense? Did I prevent myself from doing this, or did I forget to do
something?

Thanks again for your help earlier.
