Printer and Publisher

I read a lot (and have experienced trying to understand and figure it out
myself, some) about setting up paper size in Publisher and the printer. If
they're both not set alike, does one default to the other? If so, which?

Seems like when I ignore the printer and just set the paper (and set up)
correctly in Publisher it works the best. But that just might be with my
(Lexmark) printer. My previous printer (Canon BJC-250) I used for 6 years,
just did whatever the program sending to it said to (LOL)

Changing the paper size in File > Page Setup > Printer and Paper (File >
Print Setup in earlier versions) alters the printer settings, and will
sometimes also then alter the Publisher page size to match.

Altering the settings in Page Setup > Layout will not alter your printer
settings - if you set up a business-card-sized publication on there, but the
printer setup is set to print A4, your publication will come in the centre
of an A4 sheet unless you choose multiple copies per sheet.

Publisher makes no assumptions like this. This makes it slightly harder to
use than, say, Word to begin with, but makes it more versatile and easier in
the long run.
