printing select tasks

Is there a way for me to print only selected tasks, either that are in a
sequential range of numbers, or in different places on the project plan?

Sure, just create a custom filter that will show only those desired
tasks, then print that view.

You could use a Flag field to indicate which tasks meet your criteria and
then filter on that Flag.
