Printing Slides

I have a 42 slide PowerPoint Presentation which I would like to print
grayscale full letter size pages of each slide and have a problem. The first
two slides look good, black type on a white background, just as I would like
them. The remainder all are pure black backgrounds and the only thing visible
are the drop shadows.

I tried various other printing settings and can't get all the pages to look
like the first two. Pure Black and White makes all the backgrounds, type and
drop shadows black, but the images all appear normal.

What am I missing here? Your help is much appreciated.
