Printing to Fax Machine

M

Michael

My company has a large contact list consisting mostly of vendors who
prefer to use fax rather then email. We set up our server to fax outgoing
documents by printing to a shared fax machine from any program we can print
out of.
The Fax wizard which this sends us through puts us into an adress book
which lists our contacts, however only the contacts who have an email adress
appear here. We do not have email adresses for most of our vendors and many
of them don't even have email (or use it) yet. How can we access fax contacts
in this adress book?
We use Windows XP Pro and Office 2003. Thanks

I think you'll need to ask your fax software vendor about this since it doesn't sound like it uses Outlook's own address book. Outlook's address book would show not only people with email addresses, but also those with fax numbers.

Our fax wizard does use the OAB but my fax numbers had not all been checked,
they were in (xxx) xxx-xxxx form, not +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx

That should do it. NOrmalizing the fax numbers into international canonical format should make it possible for the fax software to properly extract the dialing components it needs.
