Problem Inserting Line Between Columns

I am using Publisher 2003.

I am trying to insert a line between columns. When I click on the color and
lines tab then select the graphic showing the line down the middle of the
page I cannot select a line style because it is blank.

What am I doing wrong?

Right-click the text box, format text box, lines and colors tab, click on the center
line box, choose your line weight and color.
